Terms of Service
- Essential Self-Publishing will publish the supplied manuscript on the following publishing platforms:
- Kindle Direct Publishing
- Google Play
- Draft2Digital
According to the information provided by the client.
- Essential Self-Publishing will provide the client with one ISBN for each format of the manuscript.
- Essential Self-Publishing may contact the client for additional information as needed; Essential Self-Publishing is not responsible for any losses incurred if incorrect information is provided.
- The client hereby confirms that they own the copyright to the manuscript to be published, and indemnifies Essential Self-Publishing against any copyright claims brought against the client for copyright infringement for either text or image.
- Essential Self Publishing reserves the right to terminate a publishing contract without notice in cases where extensive plagiarism is detected. In such cases, Essential Self Publishing will retain the deposit.
- In the case of digital self-publishing, Essential Self-Publishing will provide the client with a digital proof copy of the manuscript for approval before publication and invoicing. Further proofing rounds will be charged at an hourly rate.
- In the case of digital and print self-publishing and the publication of picture books, Essential Self-Publishing will provide the client with a digital proof copy for revision, and then a print proof copy for final revision. Further proofing rounds will be charged at an hourly rate.
- Any errors or omissions in the published manuscript are the client’s responsibility; Essential Self-Publishing will publish the manuscript exactly as it is provided by the client, without amendment.
- Essential Self-Publishing or the client may terminate this agreement at any time, without cause, by giving the other party fourteen (14) days written notice. Essential Self-Publishing is not required to find an alternate publishing platform for the client.
- If the client terminates this agreement before the publishing process is complete, the deposit is non-refundable.
- All documents provided will remain confidential, and copyright, publishing rights and all work remain the property of the author.
- Payment Terms
- All costs are provided in AUD.
- A non-refundable deposit of $100 is required before commencing work; the balance will be due seven (7) days after the manuscript has been published and the invoice has been delivered.
- If the publishing contract is cancelled by the client, the deposit will be retained by Essential Self-Publishing.
- If the client cancels the contract, any existing publishing of the manuscript will be removed from the publishing platforms, and the manuscript and all related documents will be returned to the client.
- Payment is to be made by direct deposit according to the details provided on the invoice.
- Essential Self-Publishing is not responsible for any claims, including legal fees, arising from any alleged defamation or copyright infringement committed by the author who created the work in question. The client agrees to indemnify Essential Self Publishing against any such claims.

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service Privacy Policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Who we share your data with
If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
